Traditional chiropractors attempt to accomplish 3 goals with care. These goals consist of increasing range of motion, reducing muscle spasm, and providing temporary relief of pain (usually neck pain and back pain). We believe these are EXCELLENT goals, and most chiropractors are good at reaching them.
At Foundation Chiropractic, however, we choose to focus our efforts on Structural Correction. For example: A foundation shift in a building can lead to cracks in walls. The owner of the building is then faced with the decision to patch the walls, or to have the foundation corrected. The foundation correction will obviously take more time, but the patch would merely mask the bigger issue which will continue to erupt until the foundation's structure is addressed.
Our Structural Chiropractic Examination helps us to determine the presence of Structural Shifts of the spine. These shifts are typically the underlying cause of many other "symptoms", which we refer to as Secondary Conditions. Just like in the building example, we focus on Structural Correction to address the underlying Structural Shifts to help reduce many of the secondary conditions including back pain and neck pain that cause patients to seek chiropractic care.
